Board of Trustees

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Phillips School of Theology I extend greetings to all attendants at the Phillips School of Theology 62nd Founders' Day Observance and 10th Pastors' Conference.  Deepest appreciation to the College of Bishops, General Officers, Presiding Elders and Ministers who have made and continue to make sacrifices to support our great academic and theological institution, Phillip School of Theology at the Interdenominational Theological Center.  Moreover, I express sincere appreciation to President/Dean Thomas L. Brown, Sr. and staff as well as those who will lead and participate in our 10th Pastors' Conference.

It is our prayer, vision and hope that ministers on every level of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will make it their business to continue to attend the CME Pastors' Conference and Phillips' Founders' observance. We are grateful to each of you for your presence and support of these activities.  Furthermore, we have gathered to "study to show ourselves approved unto God," sharpen our ministerial tools,  improve our interpersonal skills, increase our competency for ministry, respond more faithfully to the call of God upon our lives, become more effective preachers of the gospel, and to grow in the faith of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Finally, it is our prayer that you will leave this setting with more of a determination to live a better life for Christ, a vision more precise, a heart set ablaze with the fire of the Holy Ghost, and a renewed passion for this ministry that will greatly help you empower those whom you serve.

Yours in the Ministry of Jesus Christ,

Bishop Paul A. G. Stewart, Sr., Chair
Presiding Prelate, The Third Episcopal District, C.M.E. Church
